Vactor Retro-Fits - Water System
Accumulator System (Single) By adding an accumulator to a Vactor jet rodding system you can eliminate the "jackhammer" action of the pump for a smooth, more precise water flow when required. This gives you the best of both worlds - "jackhammer" action when needed to open blocked lines or a smooth flow for routine cleaning or camera work. Accumulators can be added to all Vactors, new or old.
Dual Accumulator System The dual accumulator system works with both the hose reel and the hand gun system. One accumulator is set to eliminate the "jackhammer" action from the high-pressure hose reel system just like the single accumulator. The other accumulator is set to eliminate the annoying pulse of the "jackhammer" action from the low-pressure hand gun system. This gives the operator total choice on how he wants the systems to operate.
Air Purge System The air purge system uses the chassis air system to purge out all remaining water from lines. This is useful in cold weather applications when units are not in use and need to be cleared of water to prevent freezing. The installation consists of two ball valves, one air gauge, hoses, pressure protection valve and a control panel and is installed on the passenger side of the unit.
Cold Weather Recirculating System Prevent your unit from freezing while traveling to the job site by adding a cold weather recirculating system. This can be added to either a single engine machine (PD blower unit) or a fan unit. When adding to a fan unit, it may be able to run off the auxiliary engine, hot shift pto or a front crank shaft driven hydraulic pump. A crankshaft driven hydraulic pump or a hot shift pto needs to be added when fitting to a PD blower unit.
Continuous Fill System Jet larger diameter lines without stopping to fill up your water tanks by installing a continuous fill system. The air actuated valve opened and closes automatically to maintain desired water levels.
Debris Body Washout Make cleaning out the debris tank as simple as opening a ball valve by installing a debris body washout system. A nozzle is mounted inside the debris tank near the bottom which enables high pressure water to cut underneath material giving it no chance to hang up. Available for 60, 80 & 100 GPM systems, the option is now so popular that recently manufactured units come with the studs, cut outs and plumbing required for this retro fit as standard.
Handgun Hose Reel Winding up 1/2" hydraulic handgun hose by hand takes a lot of time and effort. If you were to add up the time operators spend winding up the hose and then trying to fit it into a tool box, you'll have no problem justifying a handgun hose reel. This reel can automatically rewind up to fifty feet of 1/2 hose.
Lateral Cleaning Kit Lateral cleaning kits perform cleaning of small diameter lateral and crossover lines, with flows up to 20 GPM at 2000 psi. The reel is mounted on the front bumper, and is manually rewound by a hand crank. The reel can hold up to 150 feet of 1/2" hose.

Rodder Pump Ball Valve Drains Anyone that has run a Vactor Sewer Cleaner knows that the rodder pump is the heart of the machine. Knowing that, it is not hard to realize it should be maintained at all times. Fortunately the only maintenance required, aside from cleaning the filter, is pulling the two pump plugs and cycling the pump. Doing this will flush out any sediment that may be lying in the bottom of the pump. The pump should be flushed out at least once a week. By adding these valves, we have found that operators flush the pump more frequently, so prolonging its life and avoiding problems.
Tanks Joined Tanks joined enables the debris body to by filled with fresh water for jetting lines. On a ten-yard unit this will allow you to hold approximately eighteen hundred additional gallons of water. The water from the debris tank is filtered before entering the pump. When using this option the units debris tank needs to be cleaned thoroughly, the three inch plug inside the debris tank removed and the tank filled with fresh water. You cannot vacuum while using this option.
3" Y Strainer at Rodder Pump The Vactor rodder pump is the heart of the Vactor Sewer Cleaner and should be treated as such. Therefore its' water supply should be as clean as possible. One way to accomplish this is by adding a three inch Y strainer at the pump. This filter is located at the pump to provide excellent low pressure filtering. The inclusion of a gate valve in this option allows for cleaning of the filter when the tanks are full.
High Pressure Hand Gun & Hydro Excavating System The high pressure hand gun system utilizes the full rodder pump pressure. It can handle pressures up to 3,000 psi where the standard hand gun system operates in pressures up to 700 psi. It should be noted that this system can only be installed on units with BOTH an accumulator system and a multi-flow system.
